The Reach411® Directory Assistance platform makes it possible for MasterFiles® to provide a low-cost, highly accurate Phone Append Batch Processing to collection agencies, direct marketers and other industries needing to purge and update their data portfolios. Though these companies can access Reach411 Directory Assistance one record at a time at Reach411.com, they can also export large batches of records to MasterFiles® for hygiening and updating. Batch processing can be accomplished overnight, providing a company with “clean” records the next working day.

When individuals relocate, they usually receive new telephone numbers from the local area Telephone Company. These Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOC) are the source of the new listings that are constantly being added or deleted every 24 hours.

The commercial need of Directory Assistance (DA) by compilers prompted the telephone companies to create a commercial application of DA called Electronic Directory Assistance (EDA). MasterFiles® began working with each of the RBOCs several years ago and created a network that linked each of these companies to our servers in Dallas, Texas. In just a few short years, MasterFiles® has processed over 60 million EDA queries.

The MasterFiles® Reach411 Directory Assistance platform is a tremendous resource -- the result of years of computer programming, engineering and sophisticated software applications.

Every file is processed utilizing a scoring system that rates the matching logic results. In other words, the highest rated record would match identically with the name (both first and last names), address (both house number and street name), city, state and zip code. In the event the records do not match exactly, our proprietary software will search for those records that most resemble the query and rate the potential match accordingly. In many cases, this unique process allows us to turn inaccurate data into a value-added feature.

MasterFiles® also offers a Reverse Append product. This service will allow the user to identify the name and address of the business or resident when utilizing the telephone number as the sole search criterion.
